It's That Time of Year Again!

What time? Indiana State Fair time, of course! Now, looking at these pictures, you might get the impression that all we do at the fair is walk around and eat. You would be right. Cal had a great time. This was his second visit. He was much more animated and interested in things this year.
He seemed to really love the free shuttle. Of course, usually when he's in a moving vehicle, he's strapped into a car seat. So, that may have been some of the attraction.
Right when we walked in, we passed a Turkey Hill booth passing out free samples. We couldn't resist.
People watching along with a grilled cheese and chocolate milk dinner at the Dairy Barn was a good way to start the evening.
There's something different about this milk!
Lemon Shake Up
Checking out the miniature farming community with Dad - Cal seemed to really like this display
We spent a fair amount of time just watching the train in the Ag building. Cal kept trying to stand up in his stroller and was saying, "Choo choo!"

Strawberry shortcake - we get this every year. A side note: This year's offering included soft serve rather than hand dipped ice cream - not happy about the change!

I wish I could have captured the moment when we showed Cal his ear of corn. His eyes lit up and he grabbed it so fast.

As Cal was munching, a parade happened by. He was really into it.
Checking things out outside the DNR building
Cal did NOT want to get too close to the animals. He made it very clear that I better not get too far away.
This kid just loves brooms, so we got him one his own size. Aren't we great parents?
