Boppy Time
This is an early one, too. Again not sure of the exact date but you can tell the age partly by how ridiculously big his sleep sack is on him. It's amazing how different he is these days - not just in size but back then he wasn't focusing as well, not as much facial expression, and not making much noise either.

Adoption Day
At long last, the day is here. We went to court to finalize Calvin's adoption. It was actually pretty anticlimactic. You sort of expect them to roll out red carpet and release some balloons or something after you finally come to the end of this journey. But they don't! Anyway, we had our hearing at 8:30 this morning. I had to be "on the stand" and answer some questions (though the judge just let me stay in my seat). So, I had to swear to tell the whole truth and all that. The whole thing only took about 10 minutes and the judge said that the baby shall henceforth be known as Calvin Stephen Fox. Hooray!!!!! Now, we have another day to celebrate each year. We gave Calvin a book called Happy Adoption Day. I read it to him - maybe that will be a yearly tradition?

Porky Pig
This week's weight check has Cal weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds. I inquired about when we would be starting the Karo syrup. At this point, the doctor doesn't think that is something we need to do for several reasons - he's not losing weight, it can cause diarrhea, and it has been linked to food allergies. Basically, she said he's probably just not going to be one of those round babies.
I think the real reason they are having us do these weight checks is that the nurses are in love with Cal. They get so excited when we come in and everyone gathers around to say hello. The doctor always stops by, too. Today, Cal grabbed onto her finger and did not want to let go!
