Big Boy Shirt and Chili Judging

Do these two things really go together? No. But, I had a couple of pics to share and didn't want to do more than one post so. . .
Here is Cal in his first "big boy" shirt. This is, in fact, and outfit I bought him months before he was born - the first thing I ever bought for him! The other picture is Cal hanging out at the OLMC chili judging. And, no, I did not really give him any chili! I just wanted him to feel like he was part of things.

Kick It Up a Notch!

I forgot to add this the other day to the three month entry. Lately, Cal has been quite the little kicker. When I try to change him in the mornings, he will kick both legs straight up into the air. When he is in his bouncy seat or swing, he will kick off the blanket I put over his legs. And he now loves his play gym and will lay under it just kicking away. I have a pic and a short video when he was doing this the other day. The video is not uploading for some reason so I'll add it later!

Look What I Can Do!

Cal is reaching for the rings on the rings on his bouncy seat and catches them pretty frequently. I took a little video of it today during the 5 minutes he wasn't crying!

Hip, Hip, Hooray! I'm 3 Months Old Today!!

Here we are, three months since our little boy was born. Our lives have changed so much since that day. We are having such a great time getting to know our little guy! I didn't weigh him again today since he just had the weight check on Monday. I did talk to Dr. B's office today. They left a message while I was at mom's yesterday. The doctor left a note indicating we only needed to bring him in for one more weight check next week. So, she must be pleased with his progress. His most recent change involves focusing in on and trying to grab the rings hanging about his bouncy seat. He gets ahold of them pretty frequently, too! In general, he's just reaching out and grabbing things much more and holding on longer. I've been reading him a lot of books and he seems to be really looking at the pictures. Today, I put him in his Bumbo and held the books in front of him as I read, which he seemed to enjoy. He's really looking at people and smiling right at you, cooing and interacting more and more. In the mornings, when I lay him on the changing pad, he'll reach both arms up to me and just grin from ear to ear! Sadly, his three month birthday has been pretty tear-filled. In fact, as I write this he is laying on daddy and just wailing his poor little heart out. I am amazed that I got a couple of pictures of him where he was not screaming.

Missing Nurse Trish

Cal's weight check today showed that he is now up to 9 pounds, 8 ounces. That's up half a pound from last week. Wow!! He was a bit sad, though, that Nurse Trish had the day off today. He loves flirting with her and did not bond with her replacement. Maybe next week!
