Twenty Months

I just realized that I never wrote a twenty month update for our Little Man. It's been way too long since I updated in any case. He is still our favorite little guy, of course. He is learning how to say more and more and using his sign language more frequently. Lately, he has been saying star (he learned that one from Grams and Papaw and points out stars all over the place), shoes, close, bye-bye, night-night, dog, ball, let's go, book, and some others. Summer has been a totally different experience for him this year since he's much more mobile than last year. He loves to be out and about. We take a walk almost every day, often ending up at one of the neighborhood playgrounds. We also go to Lion's Park, which has lots of great play equipment. We've been to the pool, too, but the weather hasn't cooperated as often as we would have liked.
Here he is at the neighborhood wading pool. It takes quite a while for him to enter the pool. He starts out on the side, as in this picture, just dipping his toes in. Then, he moves on to kicking his feet. Eventually, he will stand in the water and walk around a bit. He has actually sat down but when we went today it was pretty cool and he had no interest in that.
Here he is just hanging around in downtown Carmel after our birthday dinner at Bub's Burgers.
He loves "reading" books to himself. He does this quite frequently. He loves having us read to him, too. He'll bring us book after book, asking for the same ones time and again.

Lion's Park with Daddy
How cool is this? We picked this up at a yard sale on the cheap and it is really in pristine condition. It has a radio that makes cool noises and his favorite feature, the door that he can open and close over and over.
Check out my funny hat!
Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.
You can see his little chin injury here. He stumbled at Beth's house and managed to get a pretty bad carpet burn. Beth was making lunch and he was laying there sort of whining/whimpering. She thought he was just hungry and cranky (that wouldn't be unusual around lunchtime). One of the other kiddos noticed the blood. Oh, well. We had to sneak in after he was asleep to put the Bandaid on. He ripped it right off when he was awake.
