Tummy Time, New Hat, and a Tooth?

We've been encouraging lots of tummy time lately. Cal is getting very active, managing to scoot himself around a little bit and even getting up on his knees a couple of times. He seems to be on the verge of rolling over and can get partway there but nothing yet. I told Andy to get down there and show him what to do! In other news, there appears to be something poking out of Cal's lower gum. I made Andy check, too because I thought I was crazy. He agreed.

Daycare Day 1

It seems that everything went just fine today. He ate, slept, etc. No problems. He was smiling when I left and smiling when I went to pick him up. I don't have any pics from during the day but here's one from this afternoon after I picked him up.

Daddy Pics

Every once in a while I come home and find Andy has taken a few pics while I was out. Here are a couple of cute ones.

Crib Update

Well, he's been sleeping in the crib all week and things have been great. He didn't seem to notice the transition at all so I guess I was worried for nothing. A lot of people have been asking if he sleeps through the night. And the answer, so far, is yes. You never know what the future holds but right now he's been going to sleep between 9 and 10 and waking up around 5 or 6. A lot of mornings, he'll go right back to sleep after his morning bottle. Now that he'll be heading to daycare starting Monday, I'm not sure exactly what his routine will end up being - we shall see! We're going to Beth's (his daycare provider) tomorrow morning to drop off his pack n' play and formula so he'll be ready for next week. I'll be dropping him off by 7 in the morning each day and then hustling to get myself to work on time! I'm sure it will take a while to have the routine down pat but we'll work it out.

Next on MTV Cribs: Calvin

We're going to give it a try tonight - sleeping in the crib. Up until now, Cal's been hanging out at night in his bassinet. After taking his picture today, it really sank in that he's getting pretty big and should probably move on.

A Nice Round Number

Can you believe that our little bubba is 10 pounds? From the picture, he looks like he's having a hard time believing it, too. We went in for our weekly weight check. Cal had 2 nurses (including his fave Nurse Trish) and a student all to himself. He, of course, was flirting all over the place and being loved on by everyone! We may not have to go back until his 4 month appointment in February. Nurse Trish said she'd give me a call this afternoon to let me know. Either way, he is progressing well.

Big Boy Shirt and Chili Judging

Do these two things really go together? No. But, I had a couple of pics to share and didn't want to do more than one post so. . .
Here is Cal in his first "big boy" shirt. This is, in fact, and outfit I bought him months before he was born - the first thing I ever bought for him! The other picture is Cal hanging out at the OLMC chili judging. And, no, I did not really give him any chili! I just wanted him to feel like he was part of things.
