Happy Easter!

Before we headed out to Brownsburg for mass, we had to check out what the Easter bunny left!
Books? Awesome!
What have we here?

I'll just rake the carpet a bit. Good idea, yes?

Hey, wait a minute, I think this is food. The Easter bunny leaves food? Sweet!
Seriously, mom?
OK, but only because there is cake. (Funny side note: We tried to give Cal a little whipped cream to go with his cake. He would not touch it! Grams even put a little on his finger and nothin' doin'. Funny.)

Check out the cool sand and water table from Grams and Papaw. Rain, rain go away, so I can get outside and play.
Check me out - Uncle Josh got me this and I'm lovin' it so far.

Mom showed me that you can carry stuff around in there. It just gets better and better.

Why not?

I forgot I had a couple of pics on my camera from before Cal got so sick and I took a few today so I decided to go ahead and put them up.
First bike ride of the season - these I took with the actual camera, rather than on my phone.
He took puppy along for the ride so that he would have music and a companion.
Let's go, Mommy!
He has just been fascinated with this old calculator recently. We are fairly certain that this means he will be a mathematical genius.
Despite the look on his face, he was having quite a good time peeking at Mommy through the bannister this morning.

Just getting a little fresh air. We've been cooped up inside a lot since he has been feeling so poorly. We even took a short walk over the the mailboxes today. We got out the bubbles from he got in his Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Fox, too. Good times were had by all.

Recent Pics

The other day I said we didn't have any pics from Calvin's 18 month birthday, and that is true. But, I remembered I had a few recent ones I took with my phone.
Wearing his bunny ears at Grandma and Grandpa Fox's house on Palm Sunday
Checking out his Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Fox
Race for the Cure on April 16th - It was a cold one this year so Cal was quite bundled up. He got his own race bib this year but elected to lay around in the stroller rather than run/walk.
Night before the race, doing his pirate impersonation at Long John Silver's
First bike ride of the season on a nice day last week
Hanging out at the neighborhood playground during the bike ride
We've been taking lots of walks lately, some on nice days that others. He was pretty bundled for this one.

Another nice recent day at the playground

18 Months Today

I will not be including any pictures with this post. Little Man has been quite sick the past couple of days. We took him to the doctor yesterday and it turns out that it is strep. Long story short, he hasn't exactly been camera ready lately.
But, I'll go ahead and do a quick update. Not sure on height but they weighed him at the doc's yesterday and he was 21 pounds, 12 ounces. He was supposed to have his well baby appointment on Friday but we had to push that back because of the strep. I'll update height then.
He's starting to talk more and more, repeating things we say more readily. He's said diaper, ball, tractor, push, circle, and more. He's also starting to pick up on the signs that they taught us in his speech therapy. Just the other day, he made the sign for more without any prompting while eating in his high chair. We're happy that his speech therapy seems to be going well and we're excited for him to say more and more.
Not a lot of changes since last month, really. We have been able to get outside a lot more because of the nice weather. We've been taking walks over to the playground here in the neighborhood. He really likes the swings and climbing around on the other equipment. He likes the see-saw, too. The other day we tried out the "big" slide and the look on his face was priceless.
He participated in his first Easter egg hunt this past Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa Fox's house. He caught on pretty quickly and really liked shaking the eggs to hear the sound they made. He picked them up and put them in a bag we had ready for him. We'll celebrate with Grams and Papaw on Easter Day this Sunday. I'm hoping that he'll be feeling much more like himself by then.

Pre-Cookout Fun and Park Play

This one is out of order - oh, well. Anyway. . .it's Cal enjoying a delicious vanilla cone post-church this past Sunday.
Saturday night we went to a cookout at Candace's sister's house. Cal decided to do a little pre-fun stretching to get in shape. Good thing he did - there were tons of kids there and plenty of running around to do.
Are we there yet, Mom?

You are too, too funny.

Mom, why do you keep sticking hats on my head? And are we leaving yet?
I'll just remove this offending head covering.
So, we're just hanging here? This is much more fun when you push me.
See?

Driving is serious business.
Well, maybe it's a little fun.
Come get me, Mommy! My legs are too short for these big steps.

Run, run away!

Old Man Pants

What happens when Mommy buys pajama pants that are way, way too big? Daddy pulls them up way high and Mommy and Daddy giggle like idiots. I don't know what they are laughing about. I think I look great.

Check me out!
